A vacancy exists in the Schoharie County Office of the County Administrator
in the position of CONFIDENTIAL ASSISTANT TO THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR

Starting Salary: $55,705

Works under the direct supervision of the County Administrator. Provides management support for projects and programs for the County Administrator, including office management, interdepartmental coordination, and organizational performance management systems. Provides budgetary support including financial and economic research, analytical and forecasting support and technical analytical work related to budgeting, monitoring and evaluating county-wide governmental operations. Assist in preparing annual county budget and preparing updated financial reports. Position requires furnishing dependable budget statements, including analysis and revision of budget forms, practices and procedures. This would include a review of annual budgetary proposals from departments, as well as estimating incoming sources of revenue. Incumbent will have considerable leeway for the exercise of independent judgment. Does related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS-registered college with a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or closely-related field; and two years of professional experience in Public Finance, Policy Development, Grant Writing and Management, or Budget Administration; or
(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS-registered college with an Associate’s degree in a field listed in (A) and at least four years of experience listed in (A).
