This newly enacted legislation includes statutory amendments that create a new Adolescent Offender (AO) classification, establishes a new Youth Part in the Superior Court, and requires all misdemeanor cases, except for Vehicle and Traffic Law (VTL) misdemeanors, to be heard in Family Court.
