Latest Research on NY’s Highest-in-the-Nation Taxes

For years, NYSAC has testified and written reports on how state mandates increase costs for local taxpayers.

Recently, the Citizens Budget Commission (CBC) published research that elaborates on these county impacts with a statewide view of how New York’s budget and spending practices place New York’s state and local tax burden at the top of the charts nationally.

This negatively impacts New York’s ability to attract people to the state and compete economically. As the CBC report highlights, “New York does not exist in a vacuum. It competes with other places, and other jurisdictions’ experiences provide an important perspective on the different choices that are being made.”
