County Attorney, Steuben County

The Steuben County (NY) Legislature is seeking a qualified legal professional to serve as County Attorney. This position offers the opportunity to provide legal counsel and representation to the County and its various departments. The County Attorney will be responsible for advising the County Legislature, handling litigation matters, drafting legal documents, administering contracts, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

Minimum qualifications: Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State certified law school and five years of experience in the practice of the law, two years of which must have involved specialization in the practice of civil law in New York State. Public sector experience is a plus, as is experience with real estate matters. Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills are essential. The County Attorney shall demonstrate a dedication to public service, adherence to ethical standards, and the capacity to effectively collaborate with elected officials, department heads, and the public.

Steuben County offers a competitive salary range ($132,115-$153,024 DOQ) for this position and offers a comprehensive benefits package.
