2025 NYSAC Photo Contest: Beyond 100
As part of our annual celebration of National County Government Month, NYSAC is holding our fifth annual county photo contest.
This year’s theme is Beyond 100: The Future of New York's Counties! As NYSAC celebrates our centennial year, we are looking ahead to the next 100 years of county government service.
To enter, simply email photos and information to NYSAC Multimedia Specialist Kate Pierce-Nimz at kpierce@nysac.org.
Showcase Your County!
Five winning photographs will be chosen for publication in the summer edition of the NYSAC News magazine, featured in NYSAC’s annual “Counties in Focus” Calendar, and highlighted on social media.
Get Inspired!
For this year's Beyond 100: The Future of New York's Counties theme, we'll be looking for images that capture the following:
Innovation & Infrastructure – Counties embracing technology, new public transit solutions, 911 call centers, EMS and emergency response, innovative government services, new bridges & roads, broadband expansion, public works projects.
Sustainability & Green Initiatives – Sustainability initiatives, EV charging stations, parks and green spaces, community gardens, and environmental conservation efforts.
Community Growth & Revitalization – Main Street renovations, historic buildings being repurposed for new uses, new businesses and housing developments, and public spaces being reimagined.
The Next Generation of County Leadership & Residents – Youth engagement in government, new county employees, students learning about civic responsibility.

The Fine Print
You can submit any number of photos taken on any device, so long as the photos meet the qualification guidelines. Photo(s) must have been taken within the past two years, and entrants are responsible for acquiring consent and/or releases necessary to permit use of photo(s) by NYSAC. By submitting photo(s), entrants agree to grant NYSAC the right and permission to use, re-use, publish, and re-publish the photographs related to the contest; in printed and electronic publications, and in all media including illustration, promotion, art, advertising, news, informational and educational purposes.
